Truck Ratings for RV Towing

Quite a few options exist for towing a recreational vehicle, but four truck brands dominate the U.S. market: Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, and GMC.

On this page we have compiled as many full-size truck rating references from these manufacturers as we could reasonable find and link to.

Chevrolet

Chevrolet publishes truck rating data in the Trailering section of the vehicle specification.

For their medium duty trucks, Chevrolet provides only partial weight rating information. GVWR is published on the following web sites, but GCWR is not available for all models. We called Chevrolet and they recommend talking with the dealer for accurate towing information.

Dodge

Dodge offers the following interactive Towing Guides, listing all of their vehicle ratings:

Ford

Ford offers the following towing guides by year:

I also have the following towing guides as PDF files. Until I have a chance to ask Ford permission to post these documents on my web site, I would be happy to email a copy to anyone who asks; just use the Contact Us link at the top of this page to drop me an email.
