Use this calculator when you know the vehicle’s scale weight, but need to estimate total weight (Gross Vehicle Weight) with a different configuration. Compare the adjusted GVW with the vehicle’s original scale weight or GVWR.
This calculator can be used for any tow vehicle, RV, motorhome, camper, trailer, etc.
For instance, you may have weighed your truck with only 10 gallons of diesel fuel, but it holds a total of 60 gallons.
In this case enter the scale weight in the first GVW field and enter 50 in the Adjust diesel field.
Also, the 85 gallon fresh water tank was full, but you intend to travel with no more than 20 gallons. In this case enter -65 in the Adjust water field.
* The results of this calculator are approximate. Results may be slightly inaccurate due to conversion and rounding. Weight of liquids vary slightly with temperature, altitude, chemical composition, etc.
As of January 8, 2024, this interactive RV calculator is temporarily suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope to have the calculator back up and running soon. In the meantime, we recommend reading through the rest of the notes on this page, which may help clarify your understanding. Thank you for visiting Changing Gears.
